Munsoft systems-integrated budget module and budget imports

The Addendum to the MFMA circular no 80 describes what is considered as mSCOA compliance. In terms of the Addendum, municipalities are required to have a systems-integrated budget module.

The Munsoft Financial System has the required functionality, but due to municipal budgeting being a lengthy process and various time constraints, many users opted for budgets to be imported into the
Munsoft Financial System.

In conversations with National and Provincial Treasury, we were informed that the Munsoft Financial System should no longer allow budget imports, as municipal users must use the systems-integrated
budget module available in the Munsoft Financial System.

All relevant persons are hereby informed that no external budgets will be imported into the Munsoft Financial System by any Munsoft staff and that the functionality to import budgets will be removed from the Munsoft Financial System with effect from 11 October 2017.

The current systems-integrated budget module will be improved over time to enhance the budget functionality, as well as to speed up the budgeting process.

Please feel free to contact us, should you have any questions or concerns. Any such questions/concerns should reach us by no later than 09 October 2017.

Kind Regards
